In spite of all proofreading efforts, printing errors and typos still remain unavoidable. This book is no exception to this rule.
In this page we provide a list of corrections for the main typos and printing errors in the second, revised edition of the book. This list contains corrections that have been accumulated since the publication of the second edition, but some of these corrections may concern the original edition, too. We hope to incorporate these corrections in next editions of the book in the future.
P. 9, line 16: "best adapted" should be replaced by "most adapted".
P. 10, footnote 2: in the second double integral, "dxdy" should be replaced by "dudv".
P. 11, line 10: "making multiple" should be replaced by "projection onto the same frame (such as a white screen on the wall) or by making multiple".
P. 15, first line of Sec. 2.3: add after the word "profile" the following footnote: "For the sake of simplicity we prefer to use here cosinusoidal gratings rather than sinusoidal gratings, since the cosine function is symetrically centered about the origin, so that its spectrum is real valued. If we use here sines (or cosines having any other phases) our results will remain basically unchanged, except that the spectrum impulses will have complex rather than real valued amplitudes.".
P. 15, line -2: "from the origin in" should be replaced by "to both sides of the origin along".
P. 21, line -5: "symmetric" should be replaced by "symmetric about the origin".
P. 359, first line of Sec. 11.2.2: "stands on" should be replaced by "stands in".
P. 412, two last lines: the function F in both equations should be typed in italics.
